I had made reservations at your hotel in preparation for my wife's birthday, and we were looking forward to a brief getaway to celebrate another year of life together. As a stage four cancer survivor, every day holds special significance, and we wanted this trip to be a memorable and stress-free experience. My initial contact with your hotel was over the phone, where I spoke to a staff member who identified herself as Re'al. I called to inform the hotel of our late check-in, as we were planning to arrive a little after midnight. Unfortunately, this call quickly turned into a disappointing and frustrating experience. Upon sharing my intention to check in late, I requested the convenience of an electronic key, as I have typically used at other hotels. Re'al initially confirmed that this would be possible. However, when I inquired about using my electronic credit card provided by Capital One, she abruptly stated that it would not be accepted. She cited the need to physically see the card to prevent potential fraud. I explained that my new platinum card is entirely electronic, designed to enhance security in the case of loss or theft. Regrettably, Re'al's response was far from accommodating. She insisted that I must bring the physical card or cancel my reservations, leaving me with no other viable options. I then requested to speak with a manager to address this issue, but Re'al placed me on hold and later claimed that the manager was unavailable. When I inquired about her name, she hesitated and provided conflicting information about her identity, which left me uncertain about her credibility. In addition to her unprofessional demeanor, Re'al continued to overtalk me and declined to provide the manager's last name or contact information. When I requested the district manager's information, she bluntly stated that it would be futile to contact them as the policy could not be altered. This entire exchange was not only unhelpful but also left me feeling devalued and stressed, which is particularly unwarranted for a cancer survivor. I selected Fairfield Inn & Suites Raleigh Crabtree Valley based on its proximity to the mall and the favorable reviews I had read. However, my initial experience with your staff has been far from satisfactory, and it has left me questioning my choice. I believe that such poor customer service should not go unnoticed, and I am considering sharing my experience on Google Reviews, Yelp, and with the Better Business Bureau to inform others about the disappointing treatment I received. I sincerely hope that you can address these concerns promptly and ensure that future guests do not have to endure similar experiences. I believe that providing exceptional customer service is crucial, especially in the hospitality industry. I hope my wife's birthday celebration at your hotel can be salvaged and that we can create positive memories during our stay. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to a swift resolution to the issues I have raised. Sincerely, Z D

So, the hotel itself is beautiful and really clean. The room's are very clean and the staff is very friendly. The bed and pillows are amazing and I absolutely love their body wash, shampoo and conditioner. It's great for people with eczema. The not so great thing, the a.c. hardly works and July in N.C. is hot so a working a.c. is a must! The breakfast is really disappointing. There are not very many options what is available is mediocre at best!

What an odd experience. Upon check-in, we were required to give a card despite our marriott card having been given at mobile check-in. Then, 2 additional charges were made on the aforementioned handed card; which were eventually all reversed, and then 1 payment recharged (?) The staff is quite casual. At around 2am, there were children in the lobby who appeared to be the children of the hotel staff; as they did chores as asked during our check-in. Our room had odd markings of red marker on the floor, which appeared to have been unsuccessfully scrubbed. The toilet seemed to be an oddly deep handi capped toiled, and the bathroom was rather large for the room size. Both the shower and toilet leaked water.. ALOT of water! We had soaked our clothes several times due to this; combined with having no real area to set clothes in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable, and sheets were clean. However, during our 1 Week stay we did not get breakfast but attempted to one time but were looked up and down several times, then were told we were not allowed to enter the area with socks but would need shoes due to a "slipping hazard". It is the first time we have ever been told this and stay in marriotts very often; as rewards members. This really upset us to the point of not walking past the front desk for the rest of our stay. This appears to be family owned as the employees treat the hotel like their home, eating their meals on the front desk, reception bossing around children to do chores, gatekeeping the coffee, etc. The location is not very close to anything, and the property is rather small and does not seem in good repair. It was arguably one of the worst hotel experiences we have had in our many years of traveling. Low value for cost, amenity qualities, and professionalism are the basis of my review. UPDATE: This is the location we stayed at but to us a mall is not considered something to do. The mall has all the same stores that we have back at home, not much of an attraction and not within reasonable walking distance.

The room was very nice. There were a couple of things that I found to be annoying. I needed to talk to the front desk, but there wasn't anyone at the desk for at least an 1/2 hour. Checking out, it was the same thing. Nobody was at the front desk.

I stayed there just one night. It was a clean room. It was current. The furniture was in good condition. The only issue I had was that I requested a late check-out at noon versus the regular 11am. Unfortunately, my room key didn't work after 11 am. Luckily for me, I got all my belongings out before I noticed. Depending on the direction of Glenwood Ave. You're coming from it, and it can be a little tricky to get to the hotel. I just wish that they had an indoor pool.

We.were.watching a show in Durham and all the rooms in downtown were pricing at ~500/night. Nope. This was a more reasonable option and only a 20-30 drive. Plus this hotel is close to the mall with many dining and shopping options.
